Re: Slate for 2008 IASSW Election

We are delighted to send the election slate of candidates for the 2008 IASSW elections. Please see the Candidate Profiles page that list the candidates for each office, their proposers and seconders.

All the brief CV or bibliographical statements and candidates’ Statements of Contributions will be sent in the middle of April with the official ballot.

Members also have the right to add a nominee by petition. Any petitions must be submitted to the nominating committee with full information and received no later than March 25, 2008. The petition must include the name and position of the proposed nominee; a full CV of the nominee, a 200 word brief biographical statement or CV of the nominee, a statement of proposed contributions to the IASSW of no more than 400 words by the nominee; a photograph; and letters of support from ten full members from three different countries. The nominee must be a member of the IASSW. Authors of letters of support must be from member schools. More information is given in the materials that follow.

Katherine Kendall Award

The committee chair for the 2008 award is Darja Zaviršek.

The 2002 and 2004 awards were presented during the Adelaide Congress 2004. The awardees were: Prof John Maxwell (Jamaica) - 2002 award and Prof Terry Hokenstad (USA) - 2004 award. The 2006 Katherine Kendall Award was presented during the Chile Congress 2006 to awardee Sven Hessle (Sweden).Thank you to Abye Tasse for organising this round of awards.
