REPORT ON WORLD SOCIAL WORK DAY CELEBRATION BY THE POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN<\/strong><\/p>\n

The theme for this year\u2019s celebration was \u2018Promoting the importance of human relations\u2019. The Student Social Workers at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria celebrated the day by sensitizing the university community about Social Work profession and its relevance to the society as well as the importance of this year\u2019s theme.<\/p>\n

The students also proceeded to \u2018Juvenile Correctional Home, Ijokodo, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria to visit the children at the home as well as donate relieve materials to the them. The caregivers were psychoeduacted on the Importance of human relations and how it can enhance their work with the children in the home. The children were not left out in the learning as the Student Social Workers related to the children through play and explained in simple terms how to relate with one another while encouraging friendship and watching out for each other.<\/p>\n

The celebration was a huge success.<\/p>\n
