APSS and IASSW Forge a Landmark Partnership to Enhance Social Work Education with a Global Online Learning Platform<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) held a signing ceremony on 3 May 2023 to mark the beginning of a meaningful joint initiative.\u00a0\u00a0APSS and IASSW\u00a0will work together to provide a global online learning platform for international users on IASSW Global Standards for Social Work Education and Training.\u00a0\u00a0The collaboration aims to enhance and promote the quality of social work education and the professional standards of social work practitioners around the world.<\/p>\n

Prof. Ben YOUNG<\/strong>, Vice President (Student and Global Affairs) (VPSGA) at PolyU, was invited to deliver the opening remarks.\u00a0Prof. YOUNG<\/strong>\u00a0expressed confidence in the agreement, which enables APSS to positively contribute to the international community of social work educators as well as to build global networks for students and academic staff. \u00a0Following the opening remarks,\u00a0Prof. Annamaria CAMPANINI<\/strong>, President of IASSW, was invited to give an opening address, during which she expressed her delight in celebrating this important moment of cooperation between APSS and IASSW.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed by\u00a0Prof. Eric CHUI<\/strong>, Head of APSS at PolyU, and\u00a0Prof. Annamaria CAMPANINI<\/strong>. \u00a0The signing was witnessed by\u00a0Prof. Kwok-yin WONG<\/strong>, Vice President (Education) at PolyU,\u00a0Prof. Ben YOUNG<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Dr Varoshini NADESAN<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Community Development, University of Johannesburg.\u00a0 To celebrate the new partnership, after signing the agreement,\u00a0Prof. CHUI\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Prof. CAMPANINI\u00a0<\/strong>exchanged souvenirs with each other.\u00a0\u00a0Prof. CHUI<\/strong>\u00a0delivered a closing speech to conclude the ceremony. \u00a0In his speech,\u00a0Prof. CHUI\u00a0<\/strong>thanked all of the guests for witnessing this important milestone for international social work education.<\/p>\n

The collaboration between APSS and IASSW is expected to make a significant impact on the field of social work education.\u00a0 The signing ceremony was a demonstration of the strong commitment and dedication of both parties towards nurturing future generations of social workers globally.<\/p>\n
