{"id":3707,"date":"2019-08-06T08:24:26","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T02:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iassw-aiets.org\/shadow_old\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2019-08-06T08:30:21","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T03:00:21","slug":"request-from-east-tennessee-state-university-etsu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iassw-aiets.org\/shadow_old\/news\/3707-request-from-east-tennessee-state-university-etsu\/","title":{"rendered":"Request from East Tennessee State University (ETSU)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, Tennessee, U.S., recently joined IASSW.\u00a0 As a faculty member, I am honored to be assisting our department in adding both Indigenous and\u00a0international\u00a0components to our curriculum.\u00a0 Currently, I am in the process of revising MSW course titled\u00a0<em>Social Work Foundations II<\/em>\u00a0which focuses on working with communities and organizations; and\u00a0<em>Practice with Communities and Organizations<\/em>\u00a0course for the BSW program at ETSU. I envision adding a component that will link students in the East Tennessee Region\u00a0with a peer social work\u00a0student\u00a0from another part of the world. I would like to do this as a modern day &#8220;pen-pal&#8221; assignment via email or Facebook. The course takes place in both the Fall and Spring semesters. If you are interested in collaborating and implementing this in one of your courses please email me at\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:thibeault@etsu.edu\" target=\"_blank\">thibeault@etsu.edu<\/a>.
