Professor Annamaria Campanini, Immediate Past President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), participated as a keynote speaker at the international academic conference “Training Perspective and Chinese Path: Innovation and Standards in Doctoral Degree Education for Social Work”, hosted by Nanjing University.
In her keynote address, titled “Global Standards of Social Work Education and Its Application into DSW”, Professor Campanini explored the relevance and implementation of international educational benchmarks in shaping advanced doctoral training in Social Work. Drawing on the IASSW Global Standards, she emphasized the need for quality, inclusivity, and innovation in doctoral education to meet emerging global social challenges.
The conference also featured a welcome message from Professor Antoinette Lombard, current President of IASSW, and presentations by Professor Darla Coffey and Professor Wing Hong Chui (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), who shared valuable international perspectives and experiences.
Halaevalu Vakalahi, President and CEO of CSWE, also presented at the conference. All speakers share a strong connection with IASSW, highlighting the association’s global reach and influence in advancing social work education
Professor Campanini was also appointed as a member of the Nanjing University Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Educational Advisory Committee, recognizing her continued commitment to advancing global standards in social work education.
This event reflects the growing importance of international collaboration in promoting excellence and innovation in doctoral-level social work education.
