It is with great pleasure that we extend our congratulations to Professor Wassie Kebede on his recent
promotion to the rank of Full Professor. This achievement is particularly significant, as he is the first scholar in social work in Ethiopia to attain this position.
The advancement of social work in Ethiopia has been made possible through the collective efforts of the social work community, many of whom have also offered Professor Kebede personal and professional support. He has expressed his sincere appreciation for these contributions.
Professor Kebede served as a Member of the IASSw Board of Directors from 2012 to 2016, representing the Association of Schools of Social Work in Africa (ASSWA) on the IASSW Board.
