
Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman
Azlinda Azman is a Professor of Social Work at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. A fulbright scholar and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University in 2005. She is the first, and currently the only social work professor in the country.
Nationally, Professor Azlinda is actively involved in advocating for social work education and practice, and sits on various committees responsible for the development of social work in the country. Her active and significant involvement in many NGOs in various capacities, on 16 March 2021, she was awarded the Social Work Academic ICON by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia.
Regionally, Professor Azlinda have been actively involved in the ASEAN Social Work Consortium, representing Malaysia to provide input and expertise in the field of social work education and practice since 2016 until now.
Internationally, she is a member of Asia Pacific of Social Work Education and a member of International Association of Schools Social Work. She has published extensively in international and national indexed journals, research books and chapters in books, and was invited as a keynote speaker in many conferences, providing professional input in the field of social work education and practice.
