IASSW Elections 2026: Announcement of Candidates

This is a formal announcement of candidates standing for three positions on the IASSW Board of Directors.

The IASSW Elections will be held between March -April 2026 with results announced at The General Assembly which will be held in June 2026. at the Joint Conference on Social Work Education and Social Development in Nairobi, Kenya.

There is one position open for Treasurer, and two positions for Members at Large on the Board of Directors.

  • Electronic ballots for the 2026 election will be available on the IASSW website to all paid up members on March 2, 2026.
  • You must submit your ballot by April 15th, 2026.
  • All voting will be on-line e-voting. No paper ballots will be accepted.

It is important to mention that IASSW members are entitled to nominate additional candidates by a petition. Details are as follows:

If any member wishes to petition, all materials must be received by February 28, 2026.

    • All petitions must include: both a full CV and a brief biographical statement of no more than 200 words of the proposed candidate; a photo of the nominee, and a statement of envisaged contribution by the nominee of no more than 400 words.
    • The petition must include letters of support from 10 full members (from member schools) of IASSW from at least 3 different countries.
    • The nominee must be an IASSW member.
    • Only complete petition packets can be considered.
    • Petitions and accompanying materials should be submitted to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Dr. David McNabb at nominations@iassw-aiets.org

Voting Procedure
  1. Click on the big blue button at the bottom to initiate the Voting Process.
  2. On the page that opens, enter the “Access Password” that has been emailed to you. If you have an IASSW Membership but do not have the access password, please email rashmi@iassw-aiets.org.
  3. Once you submit the Access Password, you will be able to access the Voting Form.
  4. In the Voting Form, fill out your IASSW Membership Number, Full Name, and Registered Email Address.
  5. Choose which candidates you’d like to vote for in the two different positions mentioned in the voting form.
  6. Then, click on the ‘Submit My Ballot’ button and wait for the page to submit your vote. You will see a confirmation message when the process is complete.

Please Note:

  • Each Member can only vote ONCE.
  • Affiliate Members do not have voting rights.
