Interest Areas (social work teaching, research and practice):

I am committed to partnering and engaging with the global South as well as BRICS countries to learn how indigenous social work is given life in their countries and to share how our country teaches, researches and partners with practitioners to deliver our qualifications. In addition, collaborations with the North will provide a space to learn as well as to challenge the structures that keep social work as a profession in bondage of welfarism and neo managerial liberalism. My particular interests lie in Social work leadership and management, supervision, decolonizing and indigenizing the social work curriculum, and social work ethics.

Current Activities (social work teaching, research, practice, others):

I teach the following on the BSW:  social work ethics and supervision, leadership and management, social development in South Africa and I teach management of human services and private practice on the Clinical Masters program. I am also leading the African Knowledge Production Incubators project funded by the National Research foundation.
