Current Activities (social work teaching, research, practice, others):
Professor Eric CHUI is appointed as Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences and the Co-Director of the Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. CHUI obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The University of Hong Kong. He then went on to obtain his MPhil and PhD in Criminology at the University of Cambridge. He previously taught social work at the University of Exeter (United Kingdom), The University of Queensland (Australia), and The University of Hong Kong.

On community and public service, he has served as a member or advisor on various boards and committees in Hong Kong. For example, he is a member of the Commission on Children, Labour and Welfare Bureau, and the Release under Supervision Board, Security Bureau, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. He also serves as a committee member of the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, Youth Outreach Hong Kong, and Sheng Kung Hui St. Christopher’s Home Limited Hong Kong.

He serves in the editorial board of several international journals, including Child & Family Social Work, International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, Children and Youth Services Review, and Social Work Education: The International Journal.
