Reimagining and Rebuilding Palestine: Genocide, Trauma, and the Future of a Suffering Nation

About the Conference

The conference invites scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage in critical discussions on the historical trajectory of Palestinian suffering, the psychological and social consequences of genocide and protracted occupation, and possible pathways for justice, reconstruction, and renewal.

The event will feature scholarly presentations, thematic panels, workshops, and artistic interventions aimed at documenting the past, addressing trauma, and envisioning a sustainable and rights-based future for Palestine.

  • Intergenerational trauma, resilience, and identity
  • Governance, reconstruction, and the future Palestinian state
  • Comparative post-conflict experiences and transitional justice

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts of up to 300 words should include:

  • Paper title
  • Author’s name and institutional affiliation
  • Email address
  • 3–5 keywords

  • 🗓 Abstract submission deadline: 5 December 2025
  • 📢 Notification of acceptance: 20 December 2025
  • 📝 Full paper submission: 15 July 2026

Participation

The conference will be held in person at the University of Cyprus, with limited hybrid participation for those unable to travel.
Registration fee: €100 (standard) | €50 (students with valid ID).
A limited number of travel grants are available for participants from Gaza, the West Bank, and displaced communities.

Publication Opportunity

Selected papers will be peer-reviewed and included in an edited scholarly volume coordinated by the Universitas Foundation and the University of Cyprus.
