Invitation to Submit – Special Edition on Global Standards for Social Work Education & Training

You are invited to contribute to a Special Edition of Social Work Education: The International Journal titled:

“The Global Standards for Social Work Education and Training: Implementation Progress, Successes and Future Directions.”

This special issue will examine how the Global Standards for Social Work Education and Training (2020) are being implemented across diverse contexts and explore innovations, challenges, and future directions shaping social work education globally. Submissions may include theoretical insights, empirical research, case studies, and reflective analyses that address emerging developments in pedagogy, accreditation, digitalisation, decolonisation, environmental justice, and contextual adaptations.

Key Topics Include (but are not limited to):

  • Pedagogical innovations aligned with the Global Standards
  • Benchmarking and accreditation across regions
  • E-learning platforms and digital equity
  • Decolonising curricula within global frameworks
  • Ethical dilemmas in transnational practice education
  • Environmental justice in social work curricula
  • Contextual and institutional influences on implementation

Important Dates:

  • Call for Abstracts: December 2025 – January 2026
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 January 2026
  • Notification to Authors: March 2026
  • Full Manuscript Submission: 31 August 2026

Submission Requirements:
Please submit a 200-word abstract, list of authors with affiliations, and a short biography (max 100 words per author) to:
