1. Background
The rapid development of digital transformation is profoundly reshaping social service delivery systems, professional practices, and social development strategies worldwide. In Vietnam, social services and social security have been identified as one of the eight priority areas in the National Digital Transformation Program toward 2030.
In this context, digital transformation has become an essential requirement for enhancing the effectiveness of social work practice, improving the quality of social interventions, optimizing professional human resources, and ensuring equitable access to social services for citizens.
On the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Vietnam’s Social Work Day (March 25th, 2026), the University of Labour and Social Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs) tentatively host the international scientific conference “Developing Social Work in Vietnam in the Context of Digital Transformation” , in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection (Ministry of Health), and Vietnam UNICEF.
2. Conference Objectives
• Promote the development of social work in response to socio-economic development in the digital era.
• Strengthen international cooperation and academic exchange in social work.
• Establish a scientific forum for dialogue, collaboration, training, and experience-sharing.
• Affirm the humanitarian values and social significance of social work in promoting human rights, social justice, equity, and well-being.
3. Conference themes
Papers are welcomed on topics including, but not limited to:
● Impacts of digital transformation on vunerable groups and beneficiaries
● Issues and needs of vulnerable populations in the digital era
● Social work theory and practice in digital contexts
● Opportunities and challenges for social work in the digital era
● Legal and policy frameworks for social work and digital transformation
● Development of digital social service delivery systems
● Application of digital technologies in social work practice
● Professional and human resource development in social work
● Education, training, and curriculum innovation in social work

5. Submission guidelines
a. Language: Papers may be written in Vietnamese or English and must be in original papers without previous publication.
b. Important Deadlines:
● Abstract submission: 30th January 2026
● Full manuscript submission: 28th February 2026
● Presentation submission: 15th March 2026
Accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full texts. Authors will receive notification within 07 working days after abstract submission.
