In alignment with IASSW’s goal of promoting the development of international scholars and supporting students to engage with global perspectives in social work practice, the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) organized an exciting panel discussion titled “Navigating International Social Work: From Global to Local.”
The webinar, held on January 30th, brought together 212 participants from Canada and across the world — including attendees from Oman, Uganda, Latvia, Ukraine, Greece, Austria, France, Lithuania, the United States, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Italy, Brazil, New Zealand, Germany, South Africa, Sierra Leone, the United Kingdom, Ethiopia, Poland, Bulgaria, and India.
This engaging discussion explored the diverse ways in which social work education and practice are shaped by global interconnections, while emphasizing the importance of local contexts and culturally responsive approaches.
We commend CASWE for this meaningful initiative that contributes to strengthening international dialogue and collaboration within the global social work community.
