Call for Papers: Multidimensional Poverty – Measurement, Trends and Challenges

Researchers, scholars, PhD students, and practitioners are warmly invited to submit abstracts for the upcoming scientific-professional conference on “Multidimensional Poverty: Measurement, Trends and Challenges,” hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. The conference will take place on 28–29 September 2026 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

This important conference will provide an interdisciplinary platform for dialogue on contemporary issues related to multidimensional poverty, including measurement approaches, spatial inequalities, access to education and health, food insecurity, housing deprivation, and the role of social policy in poverty reduction.

Themes

Abstracts are invited in the following areas:

  • Measurement of multidimensional poverty
  • Spatial mapping of poverty
  • Educational and health aspects of poverty
  • Food insecurity, housing deprivation, and poverty
  • Poverty among beneficiaries of social assistance and the role of social policy

Important Dates

  • 31 May 2026 – Abstract submission deadline

  • 15 June 2026 – Notification of acceptance

  • 15 September 2026 – Full paper submission deadline

  • 28–29 September 2026 – Conference dates

Submission Information

Abstracts should be a minimum of 500 words and include the title, objective, methodology, key findings, recommendations, and institutional affiliation.

Participation is free of charge, and papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the Journal of Social Policy of the Faculty of Philosophy.
