The Journal of Human Rights and Social Work invites submissions for a Special Issue on “Social Work Despite Hostility: Hope, Human Rights, and Resistance”, co-edited by Emilio José Gómez Ciriano (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha), David Androff (Arizona State University), and Jane McPherson (University of Georgia).
This special issue seeks scholarship and reflections that illuminate the transformative potential of social work to foster hope across diverse contexts. It aims to contribute to a global conversation on sustaining human rights, social justice, and resistance in increasingly challenging times.
Topics may include:
- Human rights and social justice
- Resistance and advocacy in hostile environments
- Hope-centered social work practice
- Community resilience and solidarity
- Critical and decolonial perspectives
- Social work education and activism
Researchers, practitioners, educators, and students are encouraged to contribute to this important dialogue within the global social work community.
